NORDICMAN was created to popularize Nordic skiing in California and introduce the world to the unique winter culture of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

What will we do at the camp?
Kick off your ski season on the cross-country trails of Tahoe and Truckee, training at different ski areas as conditions allow. Stay in a team house with the coach, share meals, and learn through workshops and relaxed conversations. Between sessions, explore the area, unwind in hot springs, and enjoy the start of winter together.
- Training with a coachWe will teach you how to ski skate and classic easily and confidently. We will analyze your technique using video. We will also run workshops on the most in-demand topics.
- Two sessions a dayFrom November 26 to 28, combine focused technique practice with a second coached session to build an efficient, relaxed skiing rhythm.
- Snow or dryland trainingTrail choices depend on early-season snow. If skiing is unavailable, the camp continues with pole hikes, ski imitation and general fitness training.
- Recovery and mobilityBalance training with mobility, gentle stretching and time to recover. Build habits you can carry into the rest of your ski season.

Arrive in Tahoe / Truckee, settle into the team house, and join the first training session. We’ll help anyone who needs it choose and fit their ski equipment, then gather for a welcome evening to get to know the group and go over the camp program.

Questions anybody?
November 25-29, 2026, in Tahoe / Truckee, California. November 25 is arrival day and first training session. Training runs November 26-28, with two sessions a day and a final session before departure on November 29.
The $500 per-person fee covers the full camp program: coached training, classic and skate technique work, ski preparation for the sessions, video analysis and practical workshops. Accommodation and ski passes are not included.
Beginners and experienced skiers are welcome. Groups and exercises are matched to your experience, with a focus on confidence, technique and efficient movement. Tell us about your level in the application.
Bring your cross-country skiing equipment and layers for outdoor training. Contact us before the camp if you need rental advice or help choosing equipment.
The Tahoe / Truckee area can offer early-season skiing around Thanksgiving, but snow and trail openings are never guaranteed. One option is Nevada Nordic, with trails reaching 8,500 feet, where the higher elevation can help with early-season snow.
The camp will take place regardless of snow conditions. If ski trails aren’t open, we’ll switch to ski imitation drills, hiking, and running sessions, adapting our training locations and activities to the conditions.

We’ll rent a shared house where camp participants can stay with the coach, share meals, and coordinate daily logistics. The house will also host masterclasses and workshops. You’re equally welcome to arrange your own accommodation in the Tahoe / Truckee area and join us for training sessions.
